Elcogen opened a new technology sector factory in Jõelähtme.
Jõelähtme, September 16, 2025 – Estonia’s leading hydrogen and fuel cell technology company Elcogen proudly opened its new 14,000-square-metre factory in the Loovälja Technology Park. With the completion of the new facility, Elcogen significantly expands its production capacity and becomes one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) and solid oxide electrolysis (SOEC) technologies.
Construction of the new factory began on February 2, 2024, and the structural installation started on May 7 of the same year. The cornerstone ceremony on May 18 and the topping-out celebration on November 5 were significant milestones. The grand opening of the factory welcomed guests and company partners on September 16, 2025.
Elcogen’s new factory is equipped with the most advanced technology, enabling the company to expand and increase its production capacity from 10 megawatts to 360 megawatts. This step strengthens Estonia’s position among Europe’s energy producers and supports the transition to a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
Throughout the project, Audium OÜ played a key role – from design, technological and spatial planning to construction supervision and the management of complex special systems. The collaboration between Elcogen and Audium ensured the new factory’s innovative efficiency, reliability, and high technological standard.
Elcogen is proud to take this important step forward and continues its journey toward cleaner and more efficient energy production.
